How does laser teeth whitening work?

During a laser teeth whitening treatment, a gel is applied to the teeth and then exposed to a strong blue light. This light activates the gel and breaks down any stains or discoloration on the teeth. In just one treatment, your teeth will be noticeably whiter! One of the best things about laser teeth whitening is that it is very quick and convenient. Most treatments take less than an hour to complete, and you’ll see results immediately after treatment. In addition, laser whitening is usually more effective than other whitening methods such as trays or veneers.
Advantages of Laser Teeth Whitening:
Laser teeth whitening offers several benefits over traditional whitening methods:
Fast and Effective: The entire procedure is typically completed in a single visit, usually within an hour.
Immediate Results: You will notice a significant improvement in the whiteness of your teeth right after the treatment.
Minimally Invasive: The process requires no surgery and causes little to no discomfort.
Safe and Controlled: Performed by experienced professionals, the treatment ensures safety by carefully regulating the use of the bleaching agent.
Long-Lasting Effects: With proper care, the results can last for an extended period.

Clinical research
The COZING-USBO3-1 whitening lamp emits blue light (λ 430-490 nm) and is equipped with 10 powerful 5 W LEDs for gel activation and should be placed vertically on the teeth, 5-10 cm away from the mouth to ensure good ventilation. Various types of fluorescent lamps, LEDs and lasers have been described in the scientific literature, of which lasers have received increasing attention in recent years. As lasers are a much stronger source of energy, their role in teeth whitening is to accelerate the activation of H 2 O 2 in the whitening gel and to increase the penetration of the dentin surface, thus enhancing the whitening effect by accelerating the release of free radicals from within the bleaching gel, thereby reducing the duration of the whitening process. The laser is needed to activate the chemicals in the whitening gel to produce faster and more effective results.
In summary, laser whitening has three major advantages: (1) it reduces the whitening time to 15 seconds per spot; (2) it reduces the whitening gel resting time to 8 minutes, compared to 30-45 minutes for LED cold bleaching; (3) patients have less tooth sensitivity, compared to the strong acid-dissolving reaction of LED cold whitening; and (4) laser teeth whitening is more effective and lasts longer. Therefore, for the first time in our study, a λ 450 nm blue laser with a flat-top beam profile was used. In addition, the flat-top beam profile has a unique specification that distributes the photon energy uniformly over a range of 1 cm 2 even at a distance of 105 cm from the target. λ 450 nm blue lasers have a high absorptive affinity for the whitening gels used.
